It does indeed! The foraging area has an issue that I see. The amount of sand in there will likely cause the ants to dig and nest inside it, instead of your plaster formicarium!

If it is kept dry then they will not be able to dig much.

The foraging area does have a sloped area of sand. The flat and shallow part is where i lay the food/water. To be honest, the queen has taken it upon herself to set up home in the tunnel where the pipe goes into the Plaster nest. She had a collection of eggs first spotted on 27 May, (Pic to Follow) I have had glimpses since, but nothing emerged yet.

Here is the picture of the queen & eggs. The plastic tubing has slightly distorted the image, but you can make out the cluster. Shortly after this picture was taken, the queen relocated them in the plaster tunnel entrance. Playing a waiting game now for the baby ants, should be any time now! Attachments:
